I feel compelled to make another Bollywood recommendation so here, have this beautiful song from the excellent movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (translated A Match Made by God.)

THIS MOVIE IS SO GORGEOUS, I don’t even know where to begin. It begins with the very shy Suri (the guy in glasses) falling instantly in love with a woman named Taani on the day she’s supposed to get married to the man she’s in love with, but the bus carrying her fiance and his entire family crashes and they are all killed. Her father has a heart attack and before he dies he asks Suri to marry his daughter and take care of her so she won’t be alone in the world.

They both agree but Suri realizes quickly that Taani is not happy as his wife and that every day of their lives together reminds her of her loss. He gives her money to take dancing lessons because it’s something she enjoys and then decides to get a makeover (disguising himself as Raj, the guy in jeans) and go to the dance lessons as well so he can see her being happy again. Of course Raj and Taani end up being randomly paired up as dance partners.

This video shows Raj and Taani hanging out because he wins a bet and asks for her to spend one day with him; the parts with Suri are all in Suri’s imagination.

Translation of the chorus of the song is (approximately): “I see my God in you, what should I do?
I bow my head to you in worship, what should I do?
I see my God in you, what should I do?”

This movie is beautiful and will give you beautiful feelings. So many feelings.
